Loop A - constructive period to main motif

Although there are quite a few note-diminutions in this period, the main tendency is toward note-addition, coming from the residue in measure 48 and leading up to the main motif in measure 53. The rhythmic density does not really change during this period. Short crescendos occur in the main motif. Accents are added from measure 51 onward to enhance the internal structure. The phrasing is not affected. The melodic curve remains capricious throughout this period and ends in the quite capricious main motif. The accelerando started in the previous regressive period continues at the beginning of this period: the tempo is raised from 66 to 84 bpm in measure 51. In the last measure of the main motif (measure 54), the tempo is brought back suddenly to 66-72 bpm.
