Loop C - loop 6 - regressive period

Although this period is marked as “regressive”, the note operations inside the period are exclusively note-additions. The rhythm, however, is augmented by merging the separated notes of the beginning of the period into the chords at the end of the period. Dynamics evolve in decrescendo from fortissimo in bar 221 to piano in bar 227. In the following two measures 227-228, the first two repetitions build up in a crescendo, and the last two move down again in a decrescendo. Accents are added to enhance the structure and direction of this regressive period. Although the period is regressive, the pedaling also builds up from 1/2 to full pedal towards the end of the period. The melodic curve does not evolve much.
